Eating healthy: treat or torture

Eating healthy doesn't mean salads all day, everyday. It also doesn't mean you're no longer ALLOWED to eat certain things anymore. Eating healthy shouldn't be torture, in fact it should be the opportunity to treat yourself really well!

If we change our mindset, and start to have a better relationship with food, it becomes much more enjoyable.

I truly enjoy eating healthy, because I get creative & excited about new recipes, and meal prepping is therapeutic for me every Sunday - gets my week started off right. I look at it as my way of having control over a big portion of my week that can relieve stress about what to eat when I'm rushing home from work and out to the gym.

Although, I have to admit, I do struggle. I eat clean 80ish percent of the time, but I am an emotional eater - if I'm sad, stressed or feeling anxious I take comfort in chocolate or pizza or ice cream, and then bully myself not to skip the gym that day.

I recently asked my nutritionist if I can love myself to lean-ness haha Because I want to find my balance of fueling my body properly with good nutrition, and not beating myself up when I enjoy something that's not on the meal plan.

Luckily, we're humans and aren't perfect- so all we can do is treat ourselves the best way we know how! Great nutrition, moderation & balance, and doing ourselves a favor by treating ourselves really well overall ❤️️
